KöR® Vs. Zoom!® Teeth Whitening Treatment: Which is Right for Me?

Screen Shot 2016-02-08 at 12.24.30 PMProfessional teeth whitening treatments can be much more effective at giving your teeth a whiter, brighter appearance than over-the-counter options. Offering both in-office and at-home techniques, Dr. Michael Fulbright can help you lighten your teeth by several shades and give you the smile that lights up the room! With that in mind, how can you be sure of the best professional teeth whitening procedure for your unique needs?

Here at Fulbright Cosmetic & Reconstructive Dentistry, we offer two of the most popular teeth whitening methods available: Zoom!® and the KöR® Whitening Deep Bleaching™ System. Both of these techniques have multiple advantages; however, there are some distinctions that can make one more beneficial than the other, depending on what you are trying to accomplish.

Zoom!® teeth whitening involves an in-office teeth whitening session that usually lasts about one hour. Once the treatment is complete, the results should be instantaneous. This technique can be good for mild to moderate discoloration and staining; however, it may not be ideal for those affected by deep, dark stains that have set in along the teeth. That’s where the KöR® Whitening treatment comes in. This option is specifically designed for more severe signs of stains and discoloration. The advanced whitening gel utilized in the KöR® Whitening system can remove stains that are too deep for Zoom!® to be effective. Plus, KöR® Whitening is known to have a significantly reduced rate of teeth sensitivity after treatment when compared to other whitening techniques. However, the KöR® Whitening system involves a multi-stage treatment process which combines both at-home and in-office treatment, and therefore is not as convenient as the Zoom!® option for some patients.
