Welcome to the World of Digital Smile Design
The field of dentistry is continuously advancing to help patients achieve better care and results that meet – and even exceed – their expectations. Our cosmetic dentist, Dr. Michael Fulbright, is committed to staying on the cutting edge of dental technologies and techniques, which is why we are happy to announce that we now offer the Digital Smile Design protocol at Fulbright Cosmetic & Reconstructive Dentistry.
Digital Smile Design, or DSD, is a state-of-the-art system that combines high-definition imagery and advanced modeling techniques to create a precise treatment plan for a range of dental procedures. The protocol can enhance communication between you and Dr. Fulbright, ultimately making you a partner in the process of renewing your smile. Whether you are undergoing cosmetic bonding, porcelain veneers treatment, or other procedures, we want to do everything possible to help you attain the results you envision. DSD is a remarkable tool that can work to accomplish just that. It is designed to take a multitude of factors into account, including your facial and dental proportions and the relationship between your gums, teeth, smile, and the features of your face in order to provide the best possible results.
Here is how it works: first, a comprehensive set of digital photos will be taken of your teeth and areas of your mouth from a variety of angles. Then, Dr. Fulbright will show you the images and modify them based on your suggestions to display the many potential outcomes of treatment. Once you and Dr. Fulbright have decided on the ideal results, a digital mock-up will be created, as well as impressions of your teeth. These elements will be combined and then a resin model will be produced to determine how the treatment will ultimately fit your teeth and achieve your goals.
This detailed pre-treatment process can go a long way toward ensuring that the results are to your specifications, giving you peace-of-mind that the improvements you expect are the ones that you will likely receive. DSD is ultimately designed to help you more fully visualize the potential outcome and provide feedback to Dr. Fulbright on what you like and don’t like before the treatment even begins, reducing the chance that the results are not what you were hoping for. This innovative technology can be particularly beneficial for patients who are considering comprehensive smile makeovers involving a number of treatments.
We are very excited to bring the Digital Smile Design protocol to our practice! If you would like more information, or if you would like to schedule a consultation with Dr. Fulbright, please contact us today.
