What can porcelain dental veneers do for my teeth?
Porcelain dental veneers can improve a range of teeth imperfections, including stains, discolorations, gaps, chips, and even some cases of misalignment. Unlike crowns, porcelain veneers do not cover the entire tooth – they are custom-designed to fit over a partial area of the tooth. The veneers are made to look and feel so much like natural teeth, you may forget they aren’t the real thing!
Will they be a good fit?
Porcelain dental veneers are custom-molded from an impression we’ll create of your teeth here in our office. They are specifically designed for the best possible fit on your tooth, and affixed with an extremely durable dental cement so that it can stay in place for years.
Do they look natural?
Yes. Porcelain veneers are made of a very strong ceramic material and color-tinted to match the rest of your teeth. They are built to look like your natural teeth.
What’s the porcelain dental veneers process like?
The porcelain dental veneers process typically involves two office visits: one to allow Dr. Fulbright to prepare the affected tooth for the best placement of the veneer and create a teeth impression; and a second visit to have the veneer bonded to the tooth and color-matched to the surrounding teeth. Both visits occur within two to three weeks of each other, and there is very little downtime after treatment. In some cases Dr. Fulbright can provide dental veneers in just one visit by utilizing CEREC technology.
Is the porcelain veneers procedure uncomfortable?
The procedure is typically performed using a local anesthetic to numb the treated areas, and Dr. Fulbright will make every effort to make it as painless as possible. Dr. Fulbright can also help to alleviate any anxiety you may have with sedation dentistry techniques.
Are they long-lasting?
Porcelain dental veneers are known for long-lasting results. In fact, the veneers have lasted for decades, and even lifetimes, in many patients.
